About .MX Domains

The .mx extension was launched in 2009 by the NIC Mexico registry as the official internet country code top level domain (ccTLD) for Mexico. The .mx tld was created to supercede the older, second-level domain extensions .com.mx, .net.mx, .org.mx. See the chart below for recent .mx doman sale prices.

As of March 2010 NIC Mexico has announced that more than 80,000 top-level .mx domains have now been registered, or 20% of total domain registrations which also include competing second-level domains (.com.mx, .org.mx, .edu.mx, etc.)

En el año 2009 NIC México, el sitio oficial en Internet responsable de administrar el código territorial (Country Code Top Level Domain – ccTLD) para México, comenzó con el registro de la extensión .mx. La extensión mx.tld se creó para reemplazar a las antiguas extensiones de los dominios de segundo nivel .com.mx, net.mx, org.mx.
